"Snakes in the Pulpit"

There appear to be a great many hypocrites in black churches. I'm sure this extends to churches of other races, such as the one headed by Joel Osteen. But I'll speak only of the churches with which I’ve had experience. No one -- I mean no one -- hoots and hollers and kicks their skirts up in the air and say he or she loves Jesus as much as the black church. And it is this which makes our churches the biggest practitioners of hypocrisy
Millions upon millions of people worldwide are being deceived by these false prophets and are under the spell of every word that falls from their mouths. Millions, even billions of dollars are being spent by believers, many of whom simply can’t afford to support these false preachers.

My challenge to churchgoers around the world is to be absolutely sure that God has called you to the church you attend. Good preaching and singing is not enough. Let the true spirit of God draw you there. Do not believe the hype, and later find out that TD Jakes, Creflo Dollar, Joel Osteen, Eddie Long or your church leader has mastered the art of preaching to you while needing someone to preach to them.

As I look back, I knew there were many things going on in my church that were wrong, but I was too afraid to reveal them. I knew of pastors having sex with the deacons, and members of the finance committee stealing the church offering. Nevertheless, I showed up Sunday after Sunday. I guess a few others have seen the light since then as well. I still believe there are good men of God out there. Believing otherwise would be a clear sign of the lack of faith in my God, who can change all things for the good.
